Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information InstanStore collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers creators who use InstanStore and the buyers and subscribers who visit their stores.
Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, sign-in method (Apple, Google, email code or password, stored as a secure hash) and profile details you add.
- Store content: products, courses, files, images, links and settings you create.
- Onboarding answers: the topic, audience size and goals you share so we can build your starter store.
- Buyer and subscriber information: when someone buys from or subscribes to a store, we collect their email, name, optional phone number, what they bought and order amounts. Card details are collected and stored by Stripe, not by us.
- Subscription status: receipts and entitlement status from Apple, Google and RevenueCat.
- Usage and device data: store page views and clicks (aggregated per day), app diagnostics, crash reports, device type and push notification tokens.
How we use it
- To provide the Service: host stores, process orders, deliver purchases and send receipts and sale notifications.
- To manage your subscription and prevent fraud and abuse.
- To power AI features with the text you submit and your store's product data.
- To show you analytics about your store.
- To contact you about your account and, with your consent where required, product news.
We don't sell personal information and we don't use buyers' data to advertise to them.
Who we share it with
We share data with service providers that process it on our behalf under contract:
- Convex (database and hosting)
- Stripe (creator payouts and buyer payments)
- RevenueCat, Apple and Google (subscriptions)
- Resend (transactional email)
- OpenAI (AI text generation)
- Sentry and PostHog (crash reports and product analytics), and Netlify (website hosting)
When a buyer purchases from a store, their order details are shared with that store's creator, who is responsible for how they use them. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect users.
Retention
We keep data while your account is active. When you delete your account we delete your stores, products, files and customer lists, except records we must keep for legal, tax or fraud-prevention reasons.
Your choices and rights
- Edit or export your data in the app (customer and order CSV export).
- Delete your account in Settings → Account → Delete account.
- Turn off sale notifications and push notifications in Settings.
- Buyers can unsubscribe from a creator's emails with the link in each email.
- Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your data. Email us to make a request.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Sign-in tokens are stored in your device's secure keychain. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a unique password and keep your devices protected.
Children
InstanStore isn't directed to children under 13 (or 16 where applicable), and creators must be adults.
International transfers
We may process data in the United States and other countries, using safeguards such as standard contractual clauses where required.
